Johnny Mackay

Johnny was funny, talented, kind, compassionate and a wonderful human being. He was a very interesting and interested person but 2014 saw Johnny become more and more troubled. He would often run away from home, had many addictions and undiagnosed mental health problems. None of us could save Johnny and he took his life on October 23rd 2014. The darkest day of his and our lives.

It is important for us to remember the reasons Johnny died  and to acknowledge the dark place he and we went to for the latter half of 2014. It is important for us to be honest with ourselves and others, as that is the only way to truly help people experiencing what Johnny and we as a family experienced. It is, however, also important for us to remember Johnny as he was for most of his life and it is important to create a place that Johnny would be proud to have his name attached to.

Johnny often talked about setting up his own "Happy News" TV channel. He hated seeing all of the awful things going on in the world and believed it would benefit people to perhaps have a channel which only broadcast happy news, infact we have a link to a  happy news channel  in the menu above! He  had such a compassionate nature and hated to see people lonely and sad; he thought it was just so unneccessary. He'd often sit and chat to homeless people, he'd make children laugh, he would say a cheerful "hello" to anyone and everyone he passed in the street. This became our inspiration.

If you didn't know him, here is a tiny snippet of what Johnny was about:

Johnny balancing a bike

Johnny was a very talented chin balancer! He could balance all sorts, from breadsticks to tables. In the video he is balancing a bike, which was his staple balancing item. I'm sure you can see the similarity!

Why this logo?

Johnny loved music. He loved making up songs on the piano and he loved DJing. Here you can see him play the keyboard whilst singing a song he wrote and you can listen to his mixes on MixCloud.

Johnny loved art and creating weird and wonderful things.
